We welcome children with all abilities as well as those with English as a second language. All classes will evaluate the children at the beginning of the year to see where each child is and what areas they need to work on. The teachers adjust their lessons to fit the needs of the children so that each child can reach their full potential.

Please use the driveway on Church Avenue to enter and exit the school. Please try to bring your child on time so that they are not made to feel uncomfortable by arriving after everyone else has become involved in activities. Please remember that the drop off and pick up line is not the place to discuss things with your child's teacher. If you need to talk with someone on the staff it is best to park your car and wait until the teacher is ready for conversation. Please remember, children are not allowed to be dropped off on Baseline.
Your child will be picked up at the same location and will be helped into the car. Children are put in the cars as quickly as possible, but it does take time to have you sign them in and out, so please be patient with us. If you plan to pick up your child early, please inform us before the start of the school day. If your child is not staying for extended day care they should be picked up from the school between 11:50 and noon. Please notify the school immediately if you will be late so that we can assure your child that they have not been forgotten. Children who are left beyond 12:10 will be placed in Extended Day Care and the parent will have to pay the regular rate for the time they spend there. Children will not be released to anyone other that their parents unless that person is on the child's emergency release form. If someone new is picking them up, a written note or phone call is really appreciated.
Most children like to bring a treasure from home. We encourage this, however, please only bring one item at a time. We also ask that toy guns, toy weapons, fragile items, and gum be left at home. We request that all personal items be labeled with your child's name and we remind you that we are not responsible for items that are lost or broken. Pets may be shared at school, if the parent will stay during the sharing time and then take the pet home when show and tell is over.
Your child is invited to share the fun of their special day with their classmates. Please make arrangements with your child's teacher to see what day is best and what you should bring. If your child has a birthday when we are not in session, we invite them to have an "Un-Birthday Party". Birthday children get to hold the flag during our flag ceremony in the morning.
A nutritious snack is served daily and is provided by the school. You are welcome to send snacks from home to be shared with your child's class. Suggested snacks include: apple wedges, raisins, orange sections, carrots, celery sticks, or items baked by you and your child. Please avoid peanut products, as we are a peanut free facility. If your child is allergic to any food, we need to know! The information will be put on the snack tray for their class and posted in the "Lunch Bunch" room so all staff members are aware. If your child requires special snacks because of allergies, please bring them to the school.
We may take the children on field trips throughout the year. These may be walking trips on the school property or driving trips. If it is a driving trip, the children will be transported by car. They must be in car seats and only with drivers that are licensed and insured. Drivers must carry a minimum liability limit of $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 bodily injury per accident, and $100,000 physical damage. The trips are to places of interest within a short radius of our school. The permission slips in our registration packets give us an indication of who will be allowed to come, and who is available to drive for us. We never take children off of the school grounds without an additional permission slip. If you would like to drive or come with us on a field trip, we would appreciate it very much. If you do not want your child to attend the field trip, we do not have alternative care available at the school, so they will need to stay home for that day.Back to Top
